Roy Howard Carter – Author

Full Name: Roy Howard Carter
Hometown: Magnetic Island, Queensland, Australia

Born in the UK, R. H. Carter spent a few years with the R.A.F. before being medically discharged with a back injury. He then spent many years flying a desk in the corporate world (which was never really him), before turning to the world of online marketing. In that realm he is a successful coach, mentor and international public speaker and is the author of a number of non-fiction books such as, ‘Can A Beer Mat Change Your Life?’, which is a compilation of his popular monthly newsletter ‘Letters From A Small Island’.

Hankering after the Mediterranean lifestyle, he moved to Cyprus and spent ten happy years there with his wife Lyn, before moving to another (much smaller) island, this time in the Coral Sea, in Queensland, Australia. ‘Maggie’, as Magnetic Island is affectionately known, is the place he and Lyn now call home and it is here that Roy has settled down to enjoy writing fiction.
Roy first got the bug for writing fiction after his primary school teacher gave him an A+ for his essay ‘Life Inside A Ping-Pong Ball” when he was ten years old.

Favorite film: The Shawshank Redemption
Favorite food: Beef Rendang. A good juicy steak with corn on the cob. A bacon sandwich.
Favorite Tipple: A nice glass (ok then, a bottle) of Barolo. Red Breast 12 year old Whiskey.
Favorite place to visit: Any beautiful tropical island.
